Pavan Kumar Hanumolu is a principal technologist at Omni Design Technologies and is a Professor and the Intel Alumni Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He earned his B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University.
His primary research interests are in the design of energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. His work spans several critical areas, including clock generation circuits such as phase-locked loops (PLLs), high-speed wireline transceivers for data communication, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and integrated power electronics for efficient power management. The innovations from his research group have been widely adopted in industry.
Prof. Hanumolu has served the academic community extensively. He was an Associate Editor for the prestigious IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits from 2012 to 2018 and has been a key member of the technical program committees for the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and the VLSI Circuits Symposium. He was recognized as an IEEE Fellow for his significant contributions to energy-efficient integrated circuits.
