Jim Bales

Fellow

Jim Bales brings over 30 years of experience and leadership in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design and product development at industry leading semiconductor companies.  He has led all phases of commercial integrated circuit product development from definition through release and has led or made key contributions to over 25 IC products in bipolar, BiCMOS, and CMOS processes.

Prior to joining Omni Design Technologies, Jim was a Senior Principal Member of Technical Staff at Maxim Integrated, where he led design teams developing high performance analog-to-digital converter products.  Before joining Maxim Integrated in 2000, he was with National Semiconductor and Comlinear, where he designed high performance amplifiers and analog-to-digital converters.  Early in his career he was engaged in advanced R&D of discrete-time analog signal processing circuits.

Jim holds 8 patents in the field of analog/mixed-signal circuits and has authored or co-authored 5 journal and conference papers.  He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
